With permission from Bärenreiter, I am posting a link to a recent short film that you might find interesting featuring the eminent conductor, Christopher Hogwood, behind the scenes at Bärenreiter.

What is Urtext?

Regards,

Very interesting. I wonder how the digital era will affect musical publishing in the future. Kindle and whatnot has virtually replaced printed books. Will that happen to the printed score? If so a lot more information, such as composer's notes and historical facts, could be incorporated
with the score.

Fascinating. I love stuff like this. There's also a great video (which I think has been posted here a few times) about Henle's engraving process:

Also, what is the piece in the beginning (and repeated throughout the video)?

That was very interesting, Bruce! Thanks for posting it!

...and, didyou... Thanks for posting the engraving video. My appreciation for the music on my piano desk just increased by at least a score! smile

Very interesting, thanks for posting. I absolutely love my Bärenreiter editions, especially the Bach. Such a nice, spacious feel that makes it easy on the eyes. My only complaint (a small one) is that the folios are all slightly different in size, unlike Henle.

Thanks, but I was referring to the piece in the original video Bruce posted. It sounds very Schumann or Brahms-esque. I know I've heard it many times but can't think of it.

Edit: Found it, it's Brahms' "newly discovered" Albumblatt in A Minor.
