Hello.
Very new to digital pianos. I've been thinking about adding a subwoofer to my Kawai MP8 - Behringer Truth 2031a setup. Do I run cables--I'm using XLR--to the subwoofer, then run cables from the subwoofer to the monitors? Is that how the connection is made?
The rear panel of the Kawai MP8 has xlr jacks and 1/4 jacks but no dedicated jack for a subwoofer. When I searched for "subwoofer" in the MP8 PDF manual, I found no reference.
Again, I'm new, so a detailed explanation would be great. I don't know the shorthand.
Regards,
Steve

Your best bet is to purchase a sub with speaker level line input AND outputs.

Then connect the DP to the sub, line out from DP to line in on sub, and then your speakers to the sub, line out from sub to speakers. Adjust crossover on sub and phase as necessary.

On my subwoofer (to my audio system) the subwoofer XLR connects to the left and right outputs from the amplifier, just in parallel with the speakers. The ground just goes into one of the ground outputs. But correct connection diagram really should be in the subwoofer manual

The one on the left is the sub-woofer. Apply a leash and your problem is solved!

Thanks, everyone. I downloaded the KRK 10S user manual, where the connections are clearly illustrated.

gooddog, I would have thought the one on the right would be the subwoofer, assuming that it emphasizes the bass while the one on the left is better for high pitched sounds.
