So my professor and I talked about next semester rep last week. The decision i what's currently listed in my signature below. But today I chatted with him about my piano jury and next semester some more...and he mentioned a few other Beethoven Sonata's, mainly 31 no 2 [tempest] and 31 no 3. I hadn't thought to strongly about either of these till now. But I just read through mvt. 1 of both of those and LOVE them. They also feel good on my hands. I mean, any of those sonata's is fine of course....but I can not decide what I want to do. Obviously, I have time to learn them ALL....eventually. But as of right now, I can't decide what I learn NEXT.

I know, I just need to choose and then give whatever I choose my best. I'm not particularly looking for you guys to tell me which one to do or which one of those is your favorite, just wanting to see what you all have done when you were in a similar situation. I start serious work on next semester's rep Friday, so I need to decide by then!

Try the second movement of the Tempest. That is by far the most difficult movement of both those sonatas.

Hmm. My hands like it fine. Musically it's very challenging, especially to keep the rhythmic integrity going and to pull off the phrasing effectively. The hand crossings of mvt. 2 seem a bit awkward at time but by no means impossible. Doesn't seem like it would be to bad with some rehearsal on them.

All three of these are within my technical and musical grasp. I just am being indecisive right now.

You could always learn how to use I Ching to help you decide.
