Here's my vote for an "Ave Maria" to the mountains:

Unrealistic expectations:
Beethoven rondo op 51 no 1
Mozart Sonata No. 7 in C major
Beethoven OP 27 No 1

Absolutely must do:
Learn to sight read
Learn music theory
Re-learn ONE piece to at least almost perfection. (Mary had a little lamb?)

This one has been going through my head since I got to see young Sergei Saratovsky play Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 with Symphony Nova Scotia a couple of days ago. The kid looks like a young Bill Gates and was amazing on the piano! I absolutely love this one! I couldn't find it by Saratovsky on Youtube.

Yup, I like Sunday's classical postings!
(except I couldn't quite get past the attire of those mountain men...red socks....hmmmmm)

And I don't think that Sergei looks anything like nerdy Bill Gates, really!

Rossy, is this what Mrs. R looked like the other day?
funny anecdote- was playing this piece for my teacher and I was apparently playing it in too fast a tempo. I was imagining a happy, swimming swan- not knowing the background.
5 seconds into playing, teacher starts hollering (and she's a bit of a nut, mind you) " NO! NO! The swan is dying! the swan IS DEAD! " hahhahah! it got me to slow down, alright.
(Camille Saint-Saens)

Hi, guys- check out Piano World's thread on NAMM in Piano Forum- there is one strange looking piano there! quote from a poster:

2) Story & Clark had an "art grand" that looked like a jet. Incidentally a former basketball player famous for his "air" was making an appointment to see and possibly buy it.

It's quite a sight!
(sorry this is OT...)

After Ten years the Cranberries have done a new albumn, which promises to be just as excellent and amazing as anything they have done before. Lead singer now lives in Ontario . Canada.

The new albumn is called ROSES and comes out on the 27th of february.

If you are unfamiliar with the cranberries or if you just want to hear one of their excellent songs.....

check out.....

Very nice Rossy! I am especially impressed with your wobbly stand talent. I'm sure Allister Crowley was bouncing at the other end.

Great posts yesterday... I especially love the Tchaikovsky posts.

Dont't you love when you hear something you haven't heard in years? I hadn't listened to '77 in its entirety in I can't tell you how long.
