I have a question about the fourth measure of the development section. It starts with C# and then proceeds with A B C# D E F# G# A, which is the A major scale. But the person who wrote the analysis says it's A7, but the G is raised. I see where he's coming from - the next couple of notes (C# E D etc) are indeed outlining the A7 chord.

Can someone explain this progression? In measure 3 we have the G melodic minor and G minor scale and then it goes to A major. How does that work?

The ascending scale uses the G# and the descending didn't ... melodic forces at work.

The last G that the ear hears in that measure serves to underline the [V] of v progression.

Well, it kind of functions as a V7/ii to ii (or V7 to i in Dm), but it's more of o7/ii to ii.

The A major scale in the beginning of the measure just outlines A, but then the diminished run on the second half of the measure functions as dominance resolving to tonic.

I would analyze it as |V/ii o7/ii |ii ...assuming your thinking of the key of C, and not a secondary tonal level.
