I just love and envy this guy's ablity to play a genre that I have to struggle with for months sometimes, and yet cannot get that ease with boogie he seems to have. Of course I have only a few months of trying this genre and my hands/arms (especially the left) are so weak they give out after 45-60 seconds. ha

I used to play mostly boogie woogie, and I had some of the bass figures down pretty well. They pretty much played themselves without conscious thought. I tried it the other day, and it just wasn't there anymore. I'll have to see if I can revive that.

Yah, they're pretty much standard blues progressions and variations on how they're fingered. It's the driving rythyms and sheer forte dynamics that tires my hands.

Johan Blohm is my favorite "boogie-man" but Matthew Ball and Sylvan Zang are pretty cool too afa modern players. Boogie kind of fell out of favor with the advent of R&R don't you think? It's still popular in Sweden and Britain though, maybe a comeback will happen. thumb

Oh yeah the left is what is sooo hard for me. Thanks for the link btw, more bluesy but I like the Blues also.
