Gasp! That was Hugh Laurie, of "House" fame? I have to go back and see that post again.
CaptainKawai, don't you make fun of my heartthrob, I'll track you down and ...and...well, something! And he plays piano, what's not to love?

(thanks, Sandy, for posting!! more, more!!)

Keeping with the Piano theme of this very forum, here's a pretty one by Sir Elton.

Funny -- I have the sheet music and it seems to run pretty true to the original, but when I play it, it doesn't sound half as good!

Quite the opposite really. I admire him. As I said, sings, plays piano, plays guitar, acts, is funny ... such talent.

Elssa, I loved the Stevie Nicks. I also enjoyed your earlier post of Fleetwood Mac. It brought back some good memories. It's so good to see you back here doing some postings. Thanks!

I'm doing more of my postings on the weekend because it gets too busy at work. However, I'm going to post this special appearance of Stevie Nicks with the Dixe Chicks performing Stevie's "Landslide" I happen to enjoy some of the music of the Dixie Chicks too.

(BTW, that obnoxious cough woke me up. It has now subsided, and I'm hoping a little music will get me back to sleep.)

And, since we've opened the door to the Dixie chicks, hope this "classic" of theirs hasn't been posted already. (goodbye, Hugh, I haven't forgotten you...)

I have slept. I have awakened, and I see I've started something. I think it's called keeping RST music eclectic! I'm not even that big of a country fan. However, there are some country artists I really enjoy. The Dixie Chicks are at the top of my list with others I've posted months ago.

Normally, I don't post much during the work week. I'm going try to do a few more shortly.

laugh. I can't believe it was me who got this started!

While we're in country vein...Oh, Griffin, what have you done? smile

In May 1956, for the first time, the pop, R & B and Country Billboard charts were topped by the same artists. This is one of the milestones of Rock 'n' Roll music history.

Carl Perkins was the country artist making it on the pop and R & B charts with Blue Suede Shoes. This is from Carl's silver jubilee.

I wish I had a little more time to post more than one. However, I like this post I shared last December. I think it clearly demonstrates not only what great singers the Dixie Chicks are, but what great musicians they are. This one in particular also demonstrates their ability to easily connect with other styles of music while maintaining their own style.

Here they sing "Shower the People" in a tribute to singer-songwriter James Taylor. Enjoy, and off to work I go!

Excellent Richard!! I remember Carl Perkins from my youth. He along with several other country were successful in bringing together rock, pop, and R&B. Chuck Berry immediately comes to mind.

NOooo! I must dash off to work. I'll be able to check in when I can get a break! Great postings everyone!

Aaaahh, VegasE, Stevie Ray was great, wasn't he? Another one who died before his time.
Elssa, another great Stevie—she's just timeless. Wish I could age as well.
BeccaB, I haven't heard much Tom Cochrane. I liked that, I'll have to listen to some more.
So...country. Much as I keep telling myself I'm not a country fan, I keep finding I do like a lot of it. Here's one I really liked for the harmonies:

Good evening everybody!

I feel like posting about Italian baroque music before going to bed. Here’s a beautiful violin concerto by Pietro Antonio Locatelli, another underrated composer. I hope you enjoy it.

Good night.

Hi everyone! I'm loving these postings. Just the kind of lift I need at the end of my workday! Time to get home, and get in some piano practice!

Thanks everyone!

Hi Griffin, nice to see you. Enjoy your piano practice! Instead, here it’s really late; it’s just time to go to bed.
