Hey Monica. Tricky question to say which is my favourite albums since they all have some exceptional pieces. I have listened to "Divenire" and "I Giorni" more than the others so would have to say they're my favourites at the moment although that may change the more I listen to the others:)

I think the orchestration really adds to the "Divenire" tracks but I also like the simplicity (although not sure that's strictly the right word) of the solitary piano in the "I Giorni" tracks.

As I say, I wouldn't be surprised if it changes

Maybe just a tad OT here...

I just placed my order for the "best of" book. I was wondering where I could locate a list of places his music has been used. I tried IMDB for movie soundtracks but struck out. The Olympic commercial brought tears to my eyes.

I just got the Einaudi Islands book. I was so excited to get it, but the pieces are harder than they look.

Which is his easiest to play? Any suggestions from experience? They all look reasonable until I put my fingers on the keys.

Hi LizAnne, Some of the easier Einaudi pieces are Limbo, Exit, and I due fiumi. I can't remember offhand if they're in the Islands book, though. (Maybe only I due fiumi is.)

The good news is that Einaudi tends to repeat a lot of bass patterns, so it gets easier and easier to learn new pieces after you master the first one or two.

2nd - Monday (ABF Recital #24 submission)
3rd - Indaco (ABF Recital #26 submission)

More exciting news: On Saturday, Jan. 19th, Einaudi will be streaming live on YouTube an hour long concert, played in his own home, of pieces from "In a Time Lapse."

I agree, Carlos; that arrangement is breathtaking. I'm going to check out the whole album, because I like a lot of the composers mentioned on it (Richter, Part, etc.).

p.s. I have had the same problem with trying to use the embedded feature. Somebody, I forget who, told me to try putting merely the mixed up letters and numbers part of the YouTube tag, and that works like a charm.

In other words, rather than copying and pasting the entire URL when prompted, simply enter 'QmV6dyEi430' (without the single quotes). I don't understand why/how that works, but it does for me.

ooh ooh ooh. Einaudi just posted a concert date in the U.S. for this spring, hopefully one of many: May 21 in Washington D.C. I guess I'll wait and see if something a little closer to KY gets scheduled.

I think this time Einaudi chose a more classical path then in other albuns. I use to call him a "new-classic" composer (a mix between new-age and classical), but this time I identify sounds more from the classic side.
I think it's natural: a composer evolves over time based on their life experiences.

Anyway, I think this album has some great pieces.
