It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
AW, the charge was only wearing a loud shirt in a public place though!

Lately I've become acquitted with the music of Karsh Kale. His music has been described as an electronic fusion of global music. Here is one example.
Griffin, I'm glad you were acquitted! Because it's been nice to make your acquaintance.... (darn those automatic spell checks, eh?!)
Oh Boy!! Would you believe I actually get paid to proof read things?! It was my day off, and the spell checker couldn't handle it! How's that for an excuse?

Hi everyone. Don't be too concerned if you don't hear from me for the next few days. I've got one of those extremely busy work periods ahead of me. I'll be lurking, however. I'll look forward to listening to some of your posts when time permits.
I thought I would start today off with one from the master of analogue synthesis: Tim Blake and "Lighthouse" from the excellent Crystal machine albumn.

I’m going to post about the French composer Darius Milhaud. He was a master of the polytonality, an interesting technique where several tonalities are used at once. The sound is really attractive, and this music can offer many ways of expression.
One of the most popular works by Milhaud is “Le boeuf sur le toit†(The Ox on the Roof). It was composed originally for violin and piano, to be used like stage music for a silent film of Chaplin, although I don’t know if this film was made finally. Later the piece was orchestrated by Milhaud to become ballet music.
Here’s the original version for piano and violin. I hope you like it.
Excellent Recaredo, you know a guy posted that his auntie or mam or someone was a silent film pianist, and he had a book, with such things in as "chase" "love" and other such pieces. I meant to follow it up and Pm him for the name of the book, and I have now forgotten where the post was!!
Typical of me!!! AAArggghh.

Thanks.

No print. It was hand-written, I only have some sketches somewhere that my mother (we're 4 generations of pianists) copied for me. The actual note-book is locked away - together with a massive collection of original scores.
Oh no!!! that would have been so wonderfull to look at!! It seems a shame that it is all locked away though, is it in a fragile condition?
