I guess that there aren't too many LX15 users around here...

Does anybody know what the LX-15 are selling for?

Retail is ~$7500. MAP is $5999. I know I'm a biased dealer and all, but I really like that model, both sound and looks. We sold several of the predecessor LX-10F to some serious musicians and I've gotten good feedback. We are delivering an LX-15 in a few days. It consistently impresses people in our store, though the price makes it right for only a few buyers.

Sam. Does the action feel the same as the RD-700NX, and does the LX15 have the same (very good) SuperNatural Studio Grand DP that is in the RD-700NX?

Yes. And No.

Same action, but the "Studio Grand" only features on RD-700NX. All other SN DPs seem to have the same or very similar sound sets - which basically means the "Concert Grand" on the RD and variations of that voice alone - which unfortunately is the same one that suddenly snaps into horrible metallic twanging at artificially low velocities on certain notes in the mid-range.

@EssBrace. That's too bad. I really like the Studio Grand. And I agree with you that the Concert Grand brightens up too fast.

I need to play this Studio Grand. I read nothing but positive comments about it. Such a shame it is only on one instrument.

Interesting info regarding the SN pianos!

I wonder how the speakers in an HP-507 compare to this piano. Has anyone listened to them side by side? Which one sounds best?

There is a significant, noticeable improvement in the speakers and speaker arrangement of the LX-15 over the HP-507. I believe the feature set is identical. So it's down to the speakers and the looks.

Thanks for that info Sam!

It seems (might not even be true) that on this forum most users:

- With a Kawai has a console...

- With a Roland has a stage piano...

- With a Yamaha has an avantgrand...

Just in passing. I compared a LX15 to a CS9 and the CS9 won IMHO easily on all the key (!) points: keyboard, sound, cabinet, price. I don't think you have the CS9 in the US but still may be worth comparing the next model down before committing. Is it the CS6 or 7? I would guess on an upgrade to the CS6/9 at NAMM.

(I am someone who does not like the SN sound, so that is a factor).

Spanishbudda,

Yes, it is strange that the CS9 was never released in the US. I wonder why? I have tried the CS6/CA63/CA93 and I liked them.

I am sure there will be many new pianos at NAMM too. I didn't plan on buying a DP right away but as you can see in my other thread: LINK

, that plan changed... smile Since I got my RD700NX I am playing piano a lot and that is a good thing so to get another DP from the same family makes sense for me.
