I'm getting a CVP-501 clavinova and one of the things i was wondering was with the guide lights for the demo songs which tell you what keys to press. Are they only for demo songs and i will assume songs you record yourself or is it clever enough to be able to figure them out from a midi file?
I'm sure most people have heard of synthesia and i spent a lot of my time on my old keyboard learning some songs just from copying the notes which appear from a midi file so i thought i would see before it arrives sometime next week.

On a side note the features state it connects to the internet and can browse thousands of midi songs on a custom website, is there a link i can look at or is it only accessable directly from the DP?

If the lights don't work you can always use your ears.

Flashing lights are ultimately not the way to become a musician. It's a piecemeal approach that will hold you back in the long run. Get some lessons, learn some theory and learn to read music - you'll never look back, even for flashing lights.

Fiddicult: very good question - I can't tell from a quick read of the manuals, but since it allows you to create songs in the proper Yamaha "song" format (as opposed to raw MIDI files), I'd be mildly optimistic.

Ando: of course you are right, HOWEVER, not everyone wants to learn properly, and there's nothing wrong with having some fun with modern technology. My friend absolutely LOVES his Guitar Hero game.......
