I noticed yesterday that NP's eletric piano samples seemed to play on a much lower volume level than the AC pianos. Or atleast I had extremely hard time getting them to cut through the mix.

When playing ACpianos I had my volume knob at around 12 o'clok and when soloing I often didn't even need to touch the knob. Then I played a song on the Wurly patch and I had to turn the knob to about 2 o'clock and use very heavy hand. When soloing I turned the volume to the max and the bassplayer still complained he ccould'nt hear anything

EQing didn't help that much. Have you had similar problems?

Yes, the Wurly is a little 'weak' compared to the APs - especially in the treble region of the board. I would love to see a more aggressively voice Wurlitzer sample added to the Nord Piano Library in future, along with a real multi-velocity Pianet.

In my experience, it's not uncommon to adjust your volume in between songs, or even during the same song when taking a solo, although it shouldn't be necessary to play at maximum volume in order to be heard. You could perhaps try increasing the volume of your amp/speakers, and reducing your Nord's master volume for AP sounds - that way, you'll have extra headroom when playing with the EPs.

Another option might be to enable the compressor when playing with the EPs.

The Electro boards have a gain control which can be stored for each preset, however I don't believe this feature exists on the Nord Piano.

So it is the samples. Shame, because I really like most of those rhodes samples and the wurly is ok too, but just can't get them to work with a band. Second gig behind with the NP and every time I needed a electric piano sound I found myself using the Motif, which is my #2 board.

I always have to add volume during a solo, but I just found it odd that I had to go from 50% volume to 100% volume when switching from AP to EP. And even with the 100% volume my solo sounded like a background melody :P

I'll try adding even more comp next time and I will pre-program some sounds with different EQ settings and switch between them while playing. Hope I'll find a program that works.
