The piano was a well-made instrument in its day. VERY few pianos of that age are still viable musical instruments.

A make and model specific manual will be pretty much impossible to find, if there ever was one. There is, though, an excellent generic book on the deepest workings of pianos, by Arthur Reblitz. Here's his web site: http://www.mechanicalmusicpress.com/reblitz/.... and the book on Amazon: http://www.pianosupplies.com/mm5/merchan...tuningequipment (Edited to provide the Amazon link on which Piano World gets a percentage)

I think Reblitz's book should be required reading for anyone serious about purchasing a quality piano.
Even if the reader fails to grasp the details, it gives a tremendous insight into the complexity of the instrument and reinforces what our techs have been telling us for years - these are very complex machines that require great skill to properly maintain, and that maintenance is critical for their longevity and (proper) operation.
It's also a great reference for the casual reader who might want to know more about work their tech suggests and why it might need to be performed.
