Count me absent for June 22-23. I was flying home from a conference (the one where I found a piano for most of the days in Grand Rapids). Now I'm in Lubec Maine without piano until my turn at Summerkeys next week. So..June 25-30 no piano but piano concerts. So the ear is still good.

t back a bit early . 21st, Friday last. It was great to play again and I felt so 'fresh' after break, but that didn't last long. Now I'm all thumbs again. For goodness sake it's only one note at a time.... Didn't get a chance to check out keyboards down in the states so putting that on hold for a while. Now the pruning situation out in the vineyards alter all that rain is desperate but I shall practice even if it's only 20 mins before crashing. Ownership is all well and good but you still have to supervise and I never expect anyone to do anything I'm not prepared to do myself. Too much of a perfectionist. That goes for piano too. I shapl have to let up and choose something for Ecco Fatto or I'll never do it!
No plans to leave until August so should get a good 7 weeks in. Piano is what keeps me sane!

Is it too late to join in on this, even in an unofficial capacity?

My Summerkeys week begins today. I actually had about 3 hours on a piano yesterday. Should be an interesting week with different instruments.

Well, I found time to practice both days before going to the sale (I knew that digital piano was a good investment!) so I don't need to be excused for June 29 & 30.

I tried to reply last night (my time) but the system wasn't cooperating... Glad you got your piano time in Carol!

Have to report I fell off the wagon during my recent vacation. I had arranged with the Y in Estes Park to practice during my stay. And I did. But not every day. Too many other fun activities competing for my time. It's back on the wagon now that I'm home.

Leaving tomorrow for the mountains. I'll play early in the morning with my DP, so I need to be on the excused list from July 12th to... I don't know yet! Maybe 10 days, I will be precise when I'll be back.

Have a great time - let me know the dates when you get back and I will update the list.

12th I didn't do much, but still I did something.
11th instead I didn't do anything but the piano lesson. So I don't know how that counts.
Anyhow today I'm back to my usual practice time.

Well ... I put this off for way too long, but here goes: I was on a scouting trip with a bunch of eight- to ten-year-olds from July 1 to July 11. We had no electricity, no running water, and no toilet, except for a hole in the ground that we dug ourselves. Needless to say, no piano either.

May I be excused?

Plodding through piano music at a frustratingly slow pace since 9/2012.

Standard disclaimer: I teach many things. Piano is not one of them.

I didn't realize that I should have asked to be put on the "excused" list as I was away on vacation when I missed those days in July.

Or is it "off the wagon" because I had access to a piano but did not practice as other actvities interferred?

Forgive my not understanding how this works. This is my first year doing this.

I have to ask to be excused for 2 days in June. They involved traveling to Summerkeys and back home. I was able to practice a little on the day we left and the day we were returning but we take 2 days to drive it so stayed over in a motel one night each way with no pianos.

For you, and the others who don't quite know how it works, the instructions are on the first page.

However, I suppose there is room for interpretation...

My personal take is that when you're on vacation, it is vacation and you're away from home. There may be a piano, but it isn't yours, you have to work with other people's schedules or the events of your vacation, so those days are excused even if there is a piano available.

That's how I see it.

And just for the record....I'll take this opportunity to say to the whole group....I don't need to know when you "think" you won't play. None of us can read the future. Please, just let me know after the fact.

Zillybug - ok, thanks for the update. I bet you had a great time!!!!
