Line out of DP to mic/line in of laptop.

Plenty of noise/hiss in recording.

Tried Audacity & Realband, both have identical hiss.

Not sure what to look for ?

If the headphones don't exhibit the same noise, I'd try a different cable.

Perhaps try increase the recording level on your computer, and reducing the audio level on your FP-7F.

Employed by Kawai Japan, however the opinions I express are my own.

Your laptop may only have a microphone input. You might want to try an inexpensive USB recording / playback interface like the UCA202 or UCA222:

I had read somewhere that if it had both mic-in and line-in, to use line-in, but it only has mic-in.

Thanks for the reply's, I'll check those options.
