I think I know the answer to this, but I want to be certain.
My daughter is taking my old Alesis QS-8 back to school this weekend to use as a practice "piano" for her campus apartment. She will primarily use headphones, but she wants some speakers as well. She does not want or need a large keyboard amplifier.
I was thinking about this as a setup. Get some half-decent powered computer speakers. Connection 1/4 inch mono cables to the left and right outputs of the synth and run them to a y-adapter that outputs to a 1/8 inch stereo plug. Plug that into the stereo input of the speaker system.
This seems like it would work. Am I missing anything?

Thanks. Given that her apartment is in an early 19th century building with apartments both below and above, high volume levels probably aren't the best idea in any event. She just wants to be able to play for friends and for friends to be able to goof around on the keyboard.
