If anyone is good with fingering choices could you answer this question please:

I have two different pieces of sheet music for this Minuet. The suggested fingering in the third measure differs. In one sheet music the third measure E should be played with the third finger whereas in the other sheet music the third measure E should be played with the second finger.

In both scores the next note, the 4th bar E, should be played with the second finger. So the question is really about using the same or different fingers to repeat a note.

Which is the better way to play it? I find it easier to play both Es with my 2nd finger but I can see how the first approach of using a different finger to repeat the note could give you better expression.

The same thing comes up again in bars 7-8 with the A.

Yeah, this is one of those cases where it can go either way. If you subscribe to switching fingers, you can do it that way. If you prefer to use the same finger, you can do that, too.

I'm guessing 3521 23 is how I would play it.
Alt: 24 34
Alt: 15
Alt: 14

As you can see, there are quite a few variations there. Mess around with it and see what's comfortable.

(Edit: It wouldn't put spaces in so the fingerings were vertical. So, each "Alt" fingering suggests a different fingering for the first two notes of the 3rd measure. The "34" alt fingering refers to the 4th measure.)

No problem. You'll find there are an almost innumerable quantity of fingerings that work, so the goal, really, is to find the one that works for you and is most comfortable to play.
