I know that of late, Apple has been posting on this forum, so I shall share here too.
With permission from her brother, I am posting.
Apple has been bravely fighting cancer for a few years but we just heard that she is continuing to lose her strength and that it appears she will lose her battle soon. Hospice has been called.
Apple has shared so much of herself on PW, I thought her friends here would want to know. You can share well wishes here as I am sending this http to her brother.
Like no other that I know, Mary embraces life. Family first, artist, poet, pianist, organist, chef, friend. Loving music as she does, she shared getting her Estonia and has continued to post here since. Her favorite composer is Bach.
We met once, at a Piano Party in NYC when fellow member, Elena (part of Duo Scarbo) premiered at Carnegie Hall. PW folks partied all weekend! Mary talks like she writes, spirited, is always smiling, and has a twinkle in her eye.
Two years ago Mary, her husband and 3 children moved into a beautiful new home and there Mary started teaching. Below is a video that she made.
Let's celebrate her life!
More on the Pianist Corner - look for it at the top. Photos and vid included.

I'm sorry to hear that. I feel like I've come to know her over the years. Of course, with a post count of 19,861, she's shared a lot of herself.

Thank you for sharing this sorry news. Piano World is a community, and we look out for one another. Apple's posts were some of the ones that induced me to join.
We salute her.

What stunning and most unfortunate news. Words are totally inadequate to express the sorrow felt by all of us who know Apple through PW. Condolences to Mary and her family.

Apple* you lived a life truly worth celebrating. Your posts were so sunny even at the darkest days of your life. Your positive energy, intelligent humour, insightful thoughts will forever be here in PW with the 19861 posts, and in people's memories.

Apple,
I have had the pleasure of getting to know you, watching your family grow, helping you find the perfect piano, becoming friends... and we have never actually met in person.
I wish you peace, I give you my love, and I have every hope for you on your journey.
With love,

I am truly saddened to hear this news. Thank you Apple, for reading my blog a while ago and commenting on it on the forum, giving me helpful tips on cheffing and being a pianist, for your insightful comments on teaching and learning. You probably have already noticed that you have touched many of us on this forum. Thank you so much and I really wish you have a safe journey.

I am so sad to hear of her passing. She always was cheerful and said kind words to everyone. I did not know she was going through all this chemo and cancer. Anyway, I always enjoyed reading her posts. She will be greatly missed. May Her Memory Be Eternal. I send condolences to her family and friends going through this difficult time. She is in a better place now and not in pain. May God Bless and Keep You Always Mary.
