Rest in peace, Apple.
As jazzwee said, always positive. I don't think I've ever read anything snarky or unkind from Mary here on PW. She will obviously be very missed.

Very sad. Apple will be missed greatly. Thanks so much to Apple's family for taking a moment for the beautiful but sad post. How true this is from cefinow -- very well said: Not even knowing she painted, I often thought that her comments were like bright primary color accents against a sometimes monochromatic background of opinions... she was painting from a palette all her own.

Apple was one of the posters I most admired on the forums over the years. No one nicer. I will miss her deeply.

Rest in peace Mary! As I said I never had a chance to meet you, but I sure wish I had! Mary's departure to a new and happier place hopefully was in my mind all day long, since I read this thread and read the final post of the member 'apple*' (her daughter I assume?). We didn't have that many personal exchanges, and I don't feel that I deserve to say that "I knew her", but for some reason, which is obviously because of her kind nature, I feel really sad for this loss and upset at this! Rest in peace dear apple*!

I've been checking in on Apple though PMs for years. Sad...very sad... There is a thread on the Piano Forum about possibly memorializing Apple with the donation of a new piano to a needy student. http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2013319/Our%20friend%20Apple.html#Post2013319

I am so sorry to hear that she is not among us anymore.
I only know Apple from these forums. She always had good post, advices and comments. Hope she gets the best grand piano in heaven. She was a very good human with a warm heart.
Dear Apple......RIP.......

I'm heartbroken to hear of Apple's passing - what a dear, sweet person! I will always treasure the wonderful evening I spent with her and her beautiful family, the fabulous meal they cooked, her vibrant paintings, and the enchanting time we spent around her gorgeous piano, sharing our common love of music. Hugh, Beautiful picture in Apple's music room. I never had a chance to make the "pilgrimage." That's the remarkable thing. People sought her out for all sorts of reasons. She was unfailingly kind and remarkably non-judgmental. On other forums we shared, the temperatures could flare and she would remain mostly calm and detached; a voice for community. Yes, she could get snippy once in a blue moon, but if you were the recipient of the gentle slap, that was cause for real introspection!

All I can add to my previous thoughts is that I hope that I am able to in some small way emulate her warmth, cheerfulness and grace in the future.
She was loved. She is loved. She will be missed. Can any of us ask for more on our passing? I agree. Several years ago we exchanged a bunch of PMs (some deliciously dirty humour, she was no prude), and I even sent her a picture of me. She replied: 'you're young and cute'. Apple was always unfailingly positive and upbeat, but she never courted any controversy. Unlike a lot of us I suppose. Good night, dearest.

That is beautiful Palindrome.
I know that Mary appreciated your special gift to her a year ago.
She would have much enjoyed that Bach.
