Placing a digital piano by a window with drawn curtains

The window get sunlight in the mornings only. The curtains are drawn to prevent direct sunlight from shining on the piano. My concern is that in the immediate vicinity of the curtains, the temperature seems a few degrees higher.
Will subjecting a digital piano to such a temperature fluctuation on a daily basis effect its longevity?

Shouldn't be a problem. Direct sunlight isn't great but it sounds like you've got that covered - so to speak.

Here's the setup: There's 15 cm space between the piano and the curtains, and 30 cm space between the piano and the wall: Don't know what material the curtains are made of... but I wouldn't like to have those power strips just under them. Carlos

Why not put up a short curtain which would protect the piano whilst allowing light to travel over the top? Say, a foot or so . . .Then you`ll be able to see what`s going on outside if you`re nosy like me!

You just need to take care of the max. temperature when sunlight/heat is strongest and you are playing. Usually, electronic devices have an internal max. temp. service rank (which might be specified in the manual). Place som thermometer there and check it's not higher than appropriate. For example, I don't like my TV to be sun exposed at noon 'cause it gets hot. But my home is facing SW and in Spain, so that means 40ºC at 3 p.m. during the summer.

That piano looks beautiful in the soft light of the window.
I am sure it feels good having the view of open space instead of a wall.
An adviser once recommended that I place my painting easel so I have the wall at my back and face the open space to take advantage of a commanding position of the workspace. It is much better but you need a large room so you have space between the easel and wall. Otherwise the easel will be in the middle of the room and feel too close to the wall on the other side thus nullifying the effect. The outlet strip is interesting. What country are you in?

That piano looks beautiful in the soft light of the window. Agreed! That Yamaha looks amazing and oh-so-inviting I think if you don't have direct sunlight hitting it, you'll be fine.

I just stumbled upon this in my Casio DP manual to consider:
Avoid the following locations for this product:
•Areas exposed to direct sunlight and high humidity. •Areas subjected to temperature extremes. •Near a radio, TV, video deck or tuner. •The above devices will not cause malfunction of the product, but the product can cause interference in the audio or video of a nearby device.

Sure but what is warm during the winter becomes hot in the summer. I won't dare to place my DP (nor myself) by the living-room window in the summer.
