I've been checking in on Apple though PMs for years.

Sad...very sad...

There is a thread on the Piano Forum about possibly memorializing Apple with the donation of a new piano to a needy student.

I am so sorry to hear that she is not among us anymore.

I only know Apple from these forums. She always had good post, advices and comments. Hope she gets the best grand piano in heaven. She was a very good human with a warm heart.

Dear Apple......RIP.......

Apple was loved by all as we can see in these posts. I always appreciated her unconventional approach to teaching, and felt that her students were very lucky to have such a lovely lady in their lives. Rest in peace, Apple.

Apple came across as a very caring and positive person. She never had anything negative to say even when other postings in the thread discussions got very heated.

May her soul rest in peace. Deepest condolences to her loved ones.

I didn't know Apple well, however she had contacted me several times through pm just to say 'hi' or make a quick private comment on something I've said. Always in a very friendly, positive way.

Whenever I was done reading her comments, I always felt much better; not worse. This coming from a women whom was very sick herself but still managed to find the time to spread happiness upon others.

There are very few people in the world like this and we simply should not let her memory fade away.

At some point in the future, something could be done to honor her memory here at Piano World. Possibly the "Apple Award" which would be an award for outstanding participation on the forums or something similar. People like her don't come around too often.

Rest peacefully Apple.

I posted earlier in this thread when Apple was still with us. I've been out all day and only now returned to the terrible news of her passing. All I can add to my previous thoughts is that I hope that I am able to in some small way emulate her warmth, cheerfulness and grace in the future.

She was loved. She is loved. She will be missed. Can any of us ask for more on our passing?

God speed Apple.

Hugh,

Beautiful picture in Apple's music room. I never had a chance to make the "pilgrimage." That's the remarkable thing. People sought her out for all sorts of reasons.

She was unfailingly kind and remarkably non-judgmental. On other forums we shared, the temperatures could flare and she would remain mostly calm and detached; a voice for community. Yes, she could get snippy once in a blue moon, but if you were the recipient of the gentle slap, that was cause for real introspection!

I agree. Several years ago we exchanged a bunch of PMs (some deliciously dirty humour, she was no prude), and I even sent her a picture of me. She replied: 'you're young and cute'. blush

Apple was always unfailingly positive and upbeat, but she never courted any controversy.

Unlike a lot of us I suppose. Good night, dearest.

That is beautiful Palindrome.

I know that Mary appreciated your special gift to her a year ago.

She would have much enjoyed that Bach.
