comparable to Schulze Pollmann 126e?

My husband and I saw and fell in love with a 2007 Schulze Pollmann 126e in the Walnut Peacock finish. Unfortunately, the piano was sold by the dealer mere hours before we were going back to try it out again (and almost certainly buy it).
I have to admit that I'm a little heartbroken about our missed opportunity, as I know that we are not likely to come across another used S-P this new/beautiful/gorgeous-sounding in the Chicago area during our search. (I really don't feel comfortable spending that much for a piano I can't play first, so long-distance shopping is out of the question for now.)
The rich, full sound of the Schulze Pollmann was exactly the sound I was hoping to find (and it doesn't hurt that the veneers were beautiful). Does anyone have recommendations for other brands/models that we should look at or keep our eyes open for? We're open to new or used uprights, but don't want to spend a fortune (no more than 7K, and only that much if we find something AMAZING); we also don't want anything that needs a lot of work.
We'd appreciate any suggestions people can offer... Thanks!

I would think that you would want to try out a Charles Walter. Glorious sound (especially in the bass), beautiful cabinetry, and one of the last three remaining piano manufacturers in the United States. Have a look and click on "console pianos": http://www.walterpiano.com

I agree about the Walter Pianos. The dealer in the Chicago area is Kurt Saphir. He carries a large selection of very fine pianos. He may have a used Walter from a trade-up. http://www.kurtsaphirpianos.com/Good Luck,

You may not believe this but I saw a S-P in Walnut Peacock at a dealer yesterday!
Not used - new.
Absolutely stunning.
If you want to know more, PM me

I don't know if the OP is still interested, but we have a S-P 126E that we bought new in 1999 (and has been tuned every 6 months) that we are now selling. (we moved to a larger home and purchased a 100 yr old rebuilt Steinway grand)
We live in Chicago area (Oak Park)

Hi Doug, and welcome to Piano World. However, I edited your email address out of your post; direct advertising on the forums is prohibited. Piano World does have a classified section specifically for advertising pianos for sale here... https://www.pianoworld.com/placead.phpGood luck, and congratulations on your Steinway grand. Rick

We have submitted an ad to Pianoworld. I think that it is still being evaluated (hasn't posted yet).
