Hey friends, check this out. Apparently the Country Music Hall of Fame liquidates some assets via "Craigslist". This is weird all the way around. Follow this link: http://nashville.craigslist.org/msg/3530120063.html

Interesting!

It seems that Pricilla had questionable taste in piano quality and choice of finish.

I wonder what the $4 is in the listing title. For four bucks, I would even buy it. Forget the $3.5M.

The key word there is "perhaps."

I'm guessing it hasn't been regularly tuned and maintained.

Although I like early Elvis, I'm not into the whole Elvis and Pricilla romance thing. If I could afford a historic gaudy piano that totally clashed in my southwestern style home, I'd probably go for a rhinestone-studded Liberace Baldwin or one of Elton John's red Yamaha's or Steinway's. But then, if I had that much money to throw around on a piano, why wouldn't I just get a nine foot concert grand Bosendorfer, Steinway, Fazioli etcetera, etcetera? In a case that I could look at without sunglasses! Of course for 3.5 mil, I could have a roomful of concert grands. Dream a little dream.

Well, if you could afford to buy a piano--any piano--for $3.5 million you could probably also afford the piano tuner's fee. smile

And what about this one:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Steinway-Centennial-Grand-Piano-ONE-FOUR-real-ones-and-only-playable-/330754583783?_trksid=p2047675.m2109&_trkparms=aid%3D555003%26algo%3DPW.CAT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D142%26meid%3D3326643087462544434%26pid%3D100010%26prg%3D1076%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D290498262034%26

Can someone explain to me why this is on Ebay??? (And they certainly won't let just "anyone"...like me....play it for fun....)

... and they are going to get nothing but "absolutely serious inquiries" including several starting out, "Is your product still available. I wish to buy it immediately. I am working in the rocky mountains and cannot come to see it personally but I really want to buy it right away. I will pay you by certified check. I will make the check out for enough to pay my shippers who will pick up the product after the certified check has cleared the bank. Pleas give all the extra money to the shippers.....

I had one of those responses once when I inquired about an incredibly cheap Yamaha C3, something like $1200 with a "story" to go with the cheap price. I asked to see the piano and they said, "Sorry, but the piano is located in Seattle, WA right now" to which I replied, "What a coincidence, I will be in Seattle all next week and will have lots of free time. When can I come by to see it? You name the time!" Needless to say, I didn't get a reply from that one. Bluff called.
