For those who struggle with learning basics of sight reading, I have created a cheat sheet with notes and their names. All C notes are colored red for easier recognition.

Print it out, laminate it if you wish and use it on your music rest nezt to sheet music. In no time, you'll notice you don't need it anymore wink

In some countries we didn't/don't use "b" as a label for that note, but used to call it "h". It's changing, but a few years ago the note was called "h" in Sweden, Germany and a few other countries.

Yes, in few countries B is actually H and Bb is B.

That's interesting about the B H thing, and thanks for sharing the sheet.

The use of H and B as note names in Germany gave Bach the idea of creating a 4-note motif from the letters of his family surname. The B-A-C-H motif (Bb-A-C-B in English notation) is rather famous and has appeared in a number of works. According to The Oxford Companion to Music:

"[T]hese notes were used as a musical motif by Bach himself in The Art of Fugue. Many composers have adopted it, principally for fugal compositions and notably in the 19th century after the Bach Revival. Among those who used it are J. C. Bach, Schumann (Six Fugues op. 60), Liszt, Rimsky-Korsakov, Reger, Busoni (Fantasia contrappuntistica), Karg-Elert, Casella, Schoenberg, Webern, Dessau, Pärt, and Louis Andriessen."

Modified the cheet sheat a little so that all C notes are marked in red and Middle C is colored blue. Also added explanation about the H note.

Thanks dmd for the tip wink
