Enjoy this afternoon with the GREAT man of jazz, Dick Hyman. He gave us a wealth of insight from his incredible career and played some top-notch jazz at 84) http://youtu.be/5rev_sDyeJQ

Thanks for the master classes. I greatly enjoyed Dick's playing. But I'm a little disappointed that I didn't learn that much about playing jazz piano.
It would have been great to ask him to break down exactly what he did on that opening number, how and why. Or ask him how does one learn to play stride. Or how to learn to walk a bass line in the left hand. Or what common mistakes he sees in his students' or other pianists' playing. How to go about memorizing a tune. Show us some of his favorite methods in developing a solo. What did he learn in those 12 lessons with Teddy Wilson. Does he try to "tell a story" in his soloing? If so, how? How does he see the future of jazz piano playing. Etc.
This was the first master class I checked out. Perhaps you've already covered all of that in your other master classes. But it would have been interesting to get more nuts and bolts stuff from Hyman in any case.
