They are certainly hard work over there Rossy Apart from the lovely ones that are in on, the Mendelssohn Recital
Anyways, I'm calling all RST members for a favour, I need some MP3 to Midi convertor software, and have been going around in circles for ages looking, can anyone help?

Aimee, loved your playing on the sonatina in G!. Your performance sounds so spontaneous and clear! Glad you decided to share your recording.
Wayne, I hope you have solved your “midi issue”.
Ragdoll, nice to see you over here!
I’ve spent all this evening practicing Mendelssohn. As you know his music is highly addictive, so after three hours trying to play his music, I thought of drinking a large beer and listening to this captivating piano trio.

I can't imagine all the people that you know And the places that you go When the lights are turned down low And I don't understand All the things you've seen But I'm slipping in between You and your big... dreams It's always you in my big dreams
And you tell me That it's over Wake up lying in a patch of four leaf clover And you're restless And I'm naked You've got to get out You can't stand to see me shaking, no Could you let me go? I didn't think so
And you don't want to be here in the future So you say the present's just a pleasant Interruption to the past And you don't want to look much closer 'Cause you're afraid to find out all this hope You had sent into the sky by now had... crashed And it did because of me
And then you bring me home Afraid to find out that you're alone, no And I'm sleeping in your living room But we don't have much room To live
I had these dreams, in them I learned to play guitar Maybe cross the country Become a rock star And there was hope in me That I could take you there But damn it, you're so young But I don't think I care And if I hurt you, then i'm sorry Please don't think that this was easy
And then you bring me home 'Cause we both know what it's like to be alone, no And I'm dreaming in your living room But we don't have much room To live
And Konstantine is walking down the stairs Doesn't she look good Standing in her underwear? And I was thinking, what I was thinking But we've been drinking And it doesn't get me anywhere
My Konstantine came walking down the stairs And all that I could do Was touch her long, blonde hair And I've been thinking It hurts me thinking That these nights when we were drinking No, they never got us anywhere No
This is because I can spell konfusion with a K And I can like it It's to dying in another's arms And why I had to try it It's to Jimmy Eat World And those nights in my car When the first star you see may not be a star I'm not your star Isn't that what you said? What you thought this song meant?
And if this is what it takes Just to lie with my mistakes And live with what I did to you All the heck I put you through I always catch the clock It's 11:11 And now you want to talk It's not hard to dream You'll always be my Konstantine My Konstantine
They'll never hurt you like I do No, they'll never hurt you like I do No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
This is to a girl who got into my head With all the pretty things she did Hey, you know, you keep me up in bed This is to a girl who got into my head With all these [censored] up things I did Hey, maybe baby, you could keep me up in bed My Konstantine
Spin around me like a dream We played out on this movie screen And I said, Did you know I miss you? Did you know I miss you? Did you know I miss you? Did you know I miss you? Did you know I miss you? Did you know I miss you? Did you know I miss you?
I miss you
And then you bring me home And we'll go to sleep but this time not alone No, no And then you'll kiss me in your living room, oh I know you miss me in your living room 'Cause these nights I think maybe that I miss you in my living room We don't have much room I said, does anybody need that room? Because we all need a little more room To live

I too had a few beers last night Recaredo, hence the above
AimeeO, I hate the Umpa Lumpa's, and Gene Wilder, and that film!
The midi issue, was an idea I had, that seems to get more complicated the more I try to impliment it The mp3 to midi is a "no no" and I now realise how silly I was to think I could get software to convert mps to midi lol. The idea involves the midi trail software, has everyone seen it, it's quite cool

Ha! I initially read that as "I had too few beers last night" and was wondering what might happen if you had too many beers hehehehe I get hung up on song lyrics when I'm drunk too
Rag Doll, I love the Talking Heads! I posted some a while back.
Recaredo, thanks for your kind compliments! I wish I had more time to work on that piece, but I swore to myself I would post SOMEthing in the recital and I did!
Okay. I know I have bored you all in the past with my love affair with Wim Statius Muller and my quest for his $200 out-of-print CDs. I only catch a random piece here and there on the classical music cable channel, and the very few live performances of his on YouTube. I bought the sheet music, hoping I could play ANY piece, but it is outside of my skill set currently.
Through some Google searching, I found that one of the CDs had been reissued (with a whole extra CD tacked on of 25 other works!) and an entire other CD was made with other stuff on it! And instead of $200 USD for 1 cd with one hour of music, I got two albums with 3 hours of music (most of which I have not heard) for 48.90 euros, shipping included, from a store in the Netherlands. It came in yesterday. Can't wait 'til I can sit down and give it my full attention!
So, here is some Wim Statius Muller stuff that I have probably already posted.
Greetings everyone! I'm just stopping by briefly to say hello. I'm getting used to some new Sunday activities like helping with installing a new washer and dryer. Not fun
Piano practice is starting to get back on track. My teacher noticed some good improvements when I had my lesson last week! I am really getting some results with the additional time I've added to my piano studies.
I guess I won't be posting much for a while as far as music goes. However, I'm looking forward to listening to all of the contributions on the thread this week. I might start tonight with listening to some of the drinking songs have been posted. I'll probably tilt a few beers after the frustrating time we're having with installing our laundry equipment.
Thanks everyone for all of the postings. Also thanks to everyone for your kind support and understanding of the changes I've needed to make I knew folks here would understand. As Aimee said, "piano comes first."

Griffin, glad to hear you’re making good improvements on the piano. We miss your postings.
Richard, impressive performance in your last ABF recital! Clearly your technique deserved a better piano than your old Yamaha. I loved that richness of details that your playing brings out from this nocturne. Congrats!

Late evening folks
I wouldn't know where to begin. what's been going off in my world over the last 48hrs, so I won't, but it has lead me to this song (I love Bjork )
I remember seeing this on TOTP, the only heavy metal(ish) song I ever liked
Totally unrelated............
A quick survey, response appreciated

I'm so stupid I just realized that Recaredo was talking about the length of the video and not in a plane. She is way too talented and needs to give up her piano to one of us since she is perfectly capable on guitar.
Bjork is so cute. I will have to find you some more songs that are similar to increase your metal-ness. It's always a nice quality to have.
I think that if Beethoven was alive today, he'd be pretty metal.
I am tired of no one posting 'cuz they're working on Mendelssohn (says the girl who is mostly likely to crash and burn and is terrified of the red dot).
I love this song. Especially the line "I'm open to falling from grace" hehehe it's so much more fun that way! I'll have to show Billy O a picture of the lead singer.. he'll probably like her too.
Now I will go and finish cleaning up the mess I made after a failed kitchen attempt. Fun fact: When you add sugar too quickly while beating meringue it gets liquidy and splatters everywhere when you try to continue beating while reaching across the kitchen. Fun Fact Number 2: It dries to the consistency of rubber cement.

Don't blame Mendelssohn, Blame Richard! I now blame Richard for everything, Lol, he could be our new RST scape-goat, if anything goes wrong, it's Richard's fault, if you make a mistake in piano practice, have a bad time in life, it's Richards fault!

Evening!
Here’s a beautiful song by Gloria Estefan called “Mi tierra” (My land). I remember when my wife and I were dating, we lived in different places. I travelled every weekend to visit her, and this music sounded in my car often.

I can't blame Mendelssohn or Richard for me not posting anything lately. It has more to do with Debussy, Chopin, retirement preparations, and too many other things that would bore you to tears! I hope everyone is doing well. Aimee, thanks for the kitchen tip. I hope the cleanup wasn't too bad!
I got an unexpected break today. A snow storm has forced my piano teacher to cancel my lesson today. I'm not necessarily happy about that. However, I can now post this piece by Tracy Chapman. Somehow it was just what I needed today. Hope you enjoy it.

Richard, you are now a verb! We still love you, even though I am jealous of your piano-playing abilities... hehehehe
Griffin, you have an excuse until retirement, plus two months after retirement. Although if you are incorrect and Richard is actually causing your retirement, then I will revisit the meaning of the verb Richard, and will begin to wish to be Richarded daily, until I too am retired. Lovely Tracy Chapman, by the way!
Recaredo, isn't it funny how we associate certain songs with being in cars on the way to see certain people? Here's one I used to hear while driving to see a guy I was seeing in the 90's... oh young crushes! I still get a giddy rush when hearing it.
