This custom search works much better than the built in one and allows searching older posts.

The article says he plays after a frustrating game.. Must be playing a lot these days. I like to play after a frustrating drive in traffic. I wonder if Kobe played as a kid at all? His high school has a very good music program.

Everything visible in the photo is consistent with Yamaha. The music desk, the music desk adjustment, the profile, the leg, the bench, felt color, plate color (allowing for light & shadow) are consistent. That's not conclusive, but it's reasonably likely.

For what's it's worth, Kobe posted that he was playing Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata to help blow off steam after a frustrating game.
Must have been the 1st movement-playing the 3rd (or, in my case, trying to play it) tends to raise your frustration level.

I think Kobe needs a Knabe! Or a Kemble, or a Kawai,or a Krakauer,... I also agree with Sam, as far as what I can see, it looks like a Yamaha.
