Roland have just brought out the Roland V-Combo VR-09 Mobile Keyboard

Its saure a lot cheaer than my RD 700NX, and its intriguing..

I notice there are more faders which can be used as drwabars with the hammond sounds. Its also lighter (RD 700NX does not easiliy go up a path in the dark.

I wonder what other peoples opinions are V-combo versus RD 700NX? What does it sound like in comparison?

Two completely different boards, one is a piano ... one is a B3 clone

Without playing it, it's a pretty safe bet that the VR-09 is the better organ (full drawbar control, unweighted action) and the RD700NX is the better piano (SuperNATURAL piano sounds, 88 weighted keys with their high-end PHA-III keyboard). The RD probably has more MIDI controller functionality as well. You could get the VR, use it by itself for less demanding gigs where you want to travel light, and use it as part of a two-tier setup with the RD when you want the best of both.

the vr09 is synth action as well it appears, whereas the rd700nx has one of the few best actions out there, the vr09 is nothing new, just a recycled vr700 with the added drawbars, its not a 700nx by a loooooong shot.
