I guess it's to easy to compose music that sounds sort of like this.
Are we looking for more 'avant garde' stuff here?

Haha..

You need to remember that most of us live in a different country than you, which means a different time zone. I just got back from a piano gig and it's 2:02, so there's no way I will be commenting on your music right now...

Just be patient, check what other works are here and you'll see that we are quite fine with most things... smile

Unless I misread your post and you are asking something else... Composing is not easy but I doubt that anyone is more 'avant garde' here...

Well,

This was quite lovely, but until I found the time to listen and post, you've posted this in several forums, so I'm unclear of where to reach you now...

I think that this is a wonderful story in piano. It's touching, it works well, your playing is slightly different than the score (as before), and the harmony takes you to some other places...

I'm fairly certain that the mothers in law in the wedding would be crying out of joy with this piece... smile

Firefinch, it's a lovely piece, with lots and lots of harmonic invention. I'm guessing there's some symbolism to the almost constant use of the one rhythmic motive (constancy of the marriage and relationship). The implication being that while some things will constantly change the relationship (marriage) will remain intact. If that's not what you meant then I can't think of a reason to make that rhythm so ubiquitous. In any case it's certainly an enjoyable piece.

Thank you for listening Nikolas. I should just post my comps here in this section only.
The recording was made before writing out the dots, so I was unsure what exactly I played. But i think this score works pretty well. (I'm getting better with Sibelius).

Hi Steve, Thanks for your comments.
I didn't have any thoughts along those lines of 'symbolism' etc.
I think I just sat down and played it pretty much how it sounds.
But i agree that the 'ubiquitous' rhythm could drive you mad. lol
