I a significant collection of sheet music in which my idea is to scan into a file, have the scanning software convert the scanned sheet music into a playable format, and then use my Kawai ES4 like player piano (or music box). My knowledge in accomplishing this task is limited. I have searched for software and I'm not sure which is best. Additionally, i've no idea how (hardware, software, etc. ?) to make the digital piano a player piano (with scanned music or otherwise).
any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks! -ugo

There are several programs that do this: Sibelius PhotoScore Ultimate Sibelius is well known for their notation program. Photo Score Ultimate There's a list of Mac programs here. A summary of the top ones is here. The four main commercial music scanning products are: - SmartScore - PhotoScore - capella-scan - SharpEye Music Reader Basically you're scanning the sheet music and outputting it to an editable score and midi file. Once it's a midi file you can play it through any midi output. Hope that helps.
