My 1st post. I have narrowed my DP search down to the PX850 or the YDP162. I have played the Yamaha GH action & PureCF sound on a P155 in stores. I have only heard the PX850 on YouTube & have read Casio's action isn't as good. IMO the Yamaha sounds better & feels great, but is the 162 $400 better than the 850 despite not having USB to device? If so, would it be worth waiting to see if a potential YDP182 makes an appearance? Thanks

Have you played any of the Casios with their newest action yet? If you don't like their sound, its probably not the best thing for you, but I don't see their action as weaker.
Yamaha's 182 is expected but unannounced with no indication of when or what other chances may accompany those found on the 162. There is always something around the corner. Chances are it will cost more than the 181. Maybe you should just go to a store and strike the best deal you can on a 181. I know I would make some deals to clear the decks for the next generation models.

No I have not played any of the new Casios. Would you compare the new action to a Yamaha GH or GHS? Thanks

If you go and listen to both PX-850 and YDP-162, the choice is very obvious because the sound is practically world apart. Both DP has good keys and feels good. But for sound, that is another story altogether. I had compared and listen and I bought the YDP-162.

FWIW --
I think the Casio keyboard action is at about the same level as the Yamaha GH action, and better than the GHS. But I own a PX-350, so might be biased. Others may disagree.
Don't pick the piano based on a feature like "USB to device". One way or another, you'll be able to move stuff between a PC and the piano.
It would be nice if some people here had actually _played_ the PX-850. I don't think anyone (except Mike Martin) has heard one live.
"Waiting for the next model" can take forever.

MichaelK2233 You should try a PX-150 or 350 which may be easier to find right now and sample a Casio for yourself. The action would be the same as the PX-850. As for the sound, the 850 has enhancements that the 150/350 lack. These would be the lid simulator, amp, speakers, 256 polyphony, string resonance, and a hammer emulation. I would not rely on youtube audio demos and would highly recommend playing a Casio yourself. Then you will be able to make a better decision if you want to spend $400 more for the Yahama. Bring headphones with you when you go to try out any digital piano. The sound is better through headphones.
