So my story is that we're looking for a piano around $10 000 and want to get the best we can for that money, which to me means looking around in the used market. The RX1 I was looking at was just fine and I was going to put in an offer, when the seller decided to keep it after all.

The market I live in isn't huge, but I have found an RX2 for sale. The serial number puts the manufacturing date in 2006. My question is, will this have the newer Millenium III action? I've heard nothing but good things about this action and feel it would add some value to the piano.

I have no idea if I can get this piano for the price I'm willing to pay but I'm pretty sure it's not worth the almost $17 000 the sellers are asking. Any advice appreciated!

Hi Concertina, if the RX2 was manufactured in 2006, yes, it would have the Millenium III action. Kawai introduced this action in 2004.

That price is much too high. Around 10K should do it.
The piano is a very good choice.

I agree that 17K is high but 10K...even though not impossible, the chances are very slim to find a 7 year old RX2 for that price.

In my opinion suggesting how much a person should pay in a market where you don't live or know; is a disservice to the original poster.
