Hello Everyone,
I haven't posted in awhile, but I just wanted to drop in and say hello. In the last year, increased work responsibilities coupled with new family obligations made it impossible for me to find the time to contribute to PW. Today, I have a rare stretch of unscheduled free time and PW was the first place I thought to visit. It was merely moments into reading when I realized how much I mis PW. In particular, I found the contents of the long-running "Achievement of the Week" thread so inspiring. Thanks to everyone for keeping that thread going.

Despite my hectic schedule, I have managed to practice the piano daily (save two or three)and have continued 1 hour lessons with my teacher each week. I am currently working on the first movement of the Moonlight Sonata and Benda's Sonatina in A minor. I am really enjoying both pieces tremendously.

Christine!!! Welcome back! I've missed you!

I'm glad to hear that though you've been away you've still been playing.

I hope you'll be popping over to post in the ATOW thread soon!

I didn't know what the Benda Sonatina sounded like, so I did a google on it --- lovely piece, and I think very challening! I bet you're having fun with the left-hand-over bits! Good think you had previous training with your Autumn Moods piece!
Everything's too hard until you make it easy. Follow your teacher's instructions and practice wisely/much, and you'll soon wonder how you ever found it hard ;)-BobPickle

Welcome back!
Remember that you are just in time to participate in the 29th ABF recital. Why not?

I think more details of where you have been and what you have been doing that is so much more important than PW?

I fathered 14 babies this year alone and the house I was living in got washed away in the floods, rendering me homeless and hungry. ( apparently when you are homeless, hunger sort of goes hand in hand with it.. I think this is because when you are homeless you forget where all the food shops are or something..., anyways I digress.)

yet still, even after the mad dog bite in june, I still managed to contribute to PW, albeit in an unorthodox and uncontrollable manner.

excuses dont work here, and apologies have to be like really good, say for example "I beg your humble forgiveness for my abscence, but due to an internal error, my hands went gangrenous and made scale practice difficult this week"

even then pictures may be required by the discerning and skeptical amongst us.

I suppose promising to be back for good would be a start.

Thanks for the welcome back, everyone!!!!
Yes, Cheryl-I will post soon in the AOTW thread. Missed you a bunch too!!
None of the pieces I am working on are close to recording-I could perhaps play a little piece by Lowell Liebermann called Ostinato though. I will see how it goes.
Thanks to you Benpiano, I am playing the Benda piece. Your recording inspired me to buy the music.
Hi Monica-My family keeps me plenty busy. It is a joyful kind of busy though with many very satisfying rewards. BTW: Your most recent Glass recording is phenomenal!! Beautiful job with a VERY difficult piece.

Rostosky: The details would bore you to tears, of that I am certain. I was not blessed with your wit so crafting a good tale from the dull ins and outs of life is beyond my ability.

Thanks, Farmgirl. No matter how busy, I always make time to play. Fortunately, Mr. GlassLove loves to listen so he gladly assumes dinner clean up duty in order to allow for my regular practice.
