Forgotten exercise

There is an exercise where I can only remember the right hand.

It plays everynote, black and white.

Starting from D Where you hit the first note with 1 (thumb) then the black note with 3 (middle finger) then thumb (1) on E then finger 2 on F then middle finger on F#.

Then thumb on G, middle finger G# etc etc.

I can do it all day with the right hand but completely forgot the left hand fingering

The other one is arpeggios. Which I vaguely remember being all the same shape it was something like 1C 2E 3G then thumb to C again.

Anybody any pointers.

I wrote it down but somebody used my notes to roll a ciggie

frown

Thanks

This is a chromatic scale. 1 on whites, 3 on blacks, except where 2 whites occur together, where you add in a 2.

Left hand uses the same principle: 1 on whites, 3 on blacks, except where 2 whites occur together, where you add in a 2. Specifically, 1 on D, 3 on D#, 2 on E, 1 on F, 3 on F#, etc.

There are also other fingerings for chromatic scales. The one you describe is one of the common ones.

hit the first note

I would prefer to play the notes rather than hit them.
