We learn something every day ... even about Ground Hog Day.
Apparently it tells whether Spring will be early or late this year ... if the wee beastie goes into snooze-mode, the crocus/croci (or whatever flower comes up in the US) will be a bit late in showing up in the pavement cracks.
For me, during my student London sojourn, the miracle of a brightly coloured crocus showing it's morning face along the Wimbledon pavements, flash with delight to mind.
But best of all was a trip to Hampton Court in April ... when I beheld with Wordsworth "A host, of golden daffodils".
I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o'er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine And twinkle on the milky way, They stretched in never-ending line Along the margin of a bay: Ten thousand saw I at a glance, Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced, but they Out-did the sparkling leaves in glee; A poet could not be but gay, In such a jocund company! I gazed—and gazed—but little thought What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie In vacant or in pensive mood, They flash upon that inward eye Which is the bliss of solitude; And then my heart with pleasure fills, And dances with the daffodils.
Sorry chaps ... forgive the exuberance ... and to think we were talking of Hogs!

Will he use the repeated experience to _finally_ succeed to learn piano ? I admit to watching Ground Hog Day on TV yesterday. I thought his playing was pretty good and wondered how many years of study were implied.

I'm sure piano teachers everywhere applauded those scenes, which to me meant that if you made the most of each lesson and kept practicing, you would get better and make your piano teacher proud.
Not so secretly, I'm still trying to make my piano teachers proud!
