Hello all.Could someone please count a measure for me and explain why it gets counted this way.The measure is in 2/4 time and consists of a 16th rest,2 eighth notes,a 16th note rest,and an eighth note rest.Thanks.

It is no big mystery. One always goes to the shortest value note or rest, and that becomes the basis for prolation. In this case, we are faced with sixteenth notes and rests. If one uses the tried-and-true syllables for 16th notes:
One-e-and-a-Two-e-and-a||One-e-and-a-Two-e-and-a|| etc.
Then the articulation of the notes occur on e and a of the first beat of each measure.
Thus:
One - e - and - a - Two - e - and - a :||

Notes are articulated where the syllables are bold and underlined. Each note lasts for two-sixteenths (one-eighth).
