Petrof's are very good pianos and generally have a warm tone which is still very clear. It is a piano worth checking out and seems to be at a decent price. I've only played a few of their verticals, but was quite impressed.
With the one on craigslist, it seems to come with the full starter kit!

Thanks Marty. Hows the action? I prefer light action.
I did a brief research seem like the lower uprights (lower than 131) are using petrof/deota action.

Steven,
To be honest, I really don't remember the weight of the action. I play lots of different pianos and unless an action does something weird or is totally unresponsive, I don't pay much attention to the weight, unless that is something I'm specifically checking out.
I've never had a problem with the Detoa actions. Some people hate them because they are not Renner. Remember, an upright will never have the fast repetition of a grand.
Ya just need to check it out to see if it's what you are looking for. Again, it is a quality piano and well passed "entry level."

Hi:
Yes, it's a Detoa action. I'd stay away for half the price.
Take care,
Steve

Thanks Steve...
Marty, last time Steve commented on my Czech made August Forster thread, said that the Detoa action aren't very good nor last very long.. So I guess thats his point.

I owned a 46" Petrof just a little newer than the one you referenced. I really liked the piano and enjoyed its warm, mellow tone a lot. Mine had the Renner action and the key-touch was like "Goldilocks" not too soft, not too stiff, but just right. :-)
I owned the piano a couple of years and decided to sell it... I also have a grand piano and I play it most of the time. I felt the Petrof was being too neglected, in a manner of speaking. :-)
Good luck!
Rick

Check out Steve Jackson's inventory. He might have one dirt cheap. Yes, it's on sale, today only. I think that the Petrofs imported to Canada are not the same. They all had the Detoa action and skinny hammers and twisted hammer shanks and questionable geometry, to name some of the problems. Steve
