I need to put my name down for the excused list I have not practiced for five whole days, my piano looks so lonely the falboard is dusty. I caught a bad cold and no practicing from May 22nd to the 26th. I am determined that I will atleast play some scales tonight thought, this streak simply can not go on.

Can I join as a late start? I've played most days this year (even if it was just twinkle at the piano with a violin kid) but I can't say that I've played every day thus far. But I'm determined to do it for 2013! I completed MOYD in 2009 but don't know how to add a badge.

Hi Carolyn,

When I took over MOYD in 2010 Marybee made the badges and while we decided on making one for 2009 and 10 together - We didn't make badge just for 2009.

However, in this thread:

MOYD

you can get the base MOYD keyboard and add on the 2009.

Or you could go to the 2010 MOYD thread and copy one of the images that they used.

Just right clink the sig pic you want to use, go to properties and copy the url. Then paste it in your signature area under "my stuff" at the top of the page.

OK, I need to go on the naughty list big time.

My own piano is unplayable right now. Don't ask.

It's been that way since Wednesday, May 29. I played at my piano lesson that day, and again today when I had my exam.

Unlike the last time I had no piano of my own to play on, this time I did not find alternatives. No pretending to be buying a piano so as to be able to noodle on a store model for an hour. No playing at the pub. Just ... no playing at all.

Which was kind of a stupid move, the week before my exam. But oh, well. No excuse.

I'm hoping my piano problems will get solved tomorrow, when the tech is coming. So back on the wagon as of today (fingers crossed).

Plodding through piano music at a frustratingly slow pace since 9/2012.

Standard disclaimer: I teach many things. Piano is not one of them.

Hi Sara, I'll put you on the back on the wagon right away.

I'm glad that your piano problems will be solved tomorrow!
I am sure you were not at all happy about the situation.

Enjoy playing your heart out tomorrow my dear!

The rewards of evading a close call....

Sunday I was worn out, just bone tired (finishing up a renovation). So, if it wasn't for the MOYD commitment, I'd have skipped a day. But I haven't missed a day since May 2012, except when traveling.... And not gonna start now.

So I dragged my tired butt in there and parked it on the bench - and a miracle occurred!

Maybe being tired relaxed me or something, but Tchaivowsky's Italian Folk song stopped plodding along and turned into something recognizable! Many mistakes, but I turned the corner on that piece.

Yay for MOYD!

Hi Cas, mark me as missing June 10-22. I was off having a great vacation. But it's good to be back!

I'm involved in a pottery sale June 29 & 30, so I don't know whether I'll manage any piano time. I'll let you know Monday whether I need to be excused for those 2 days.
