Someone just down the street from me is unloading their used 1.5 year old 700NX from a home studio ... what's a reasonable offer for good condition? Everyone likes great deals, but I don't want to low ball the guy either. The only problem is his asking price is over negotiable new at the moment, lol.

Well, online pricing is about $2,700. From a private party I typically offer around half what I can get it for new. However, this is the current flagship and still pretty new so you will likely not be able to get it for that. Maybe offer like $1500?
Thats just my personal way of doing second hand purchases, of course. There's really no fair price for the instrument because there just aren't enough sales to establish a market for it. Whatever you are both willing to exchange it for is the right price.

I think 1750 is a reasonable sale for both parties, I just bought mine for 2099 used but Im not even sure if it was, the piano looked like it had never been touched and came in the original box, if its just in "good" condition though I would still think 1500 is def on the low side as thats what gx and even some sx models still sell for. But if you can get it at that price consider yourself a man of good fortune!

I sold my CP5 to a pro musician for $1600 last May. I came down from $1700. I think the Roland might be priced a tad higher on full retail then the Yamaha. But yeah somewhere around $1650-1700 sounds right. It would have to be in excellent/pristine condition if that's what he's advertising. If it's kinda beat in the action or shows some signs of heavy use, I'd say $1500 then. I'm going by what you see things go for in LA too. So depending on your area YMMV. Here's one at $1400 and it comes with a crappy amp no less.. . I'm leery when someone can't speil howevar. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/msg/3591970871.html
