Search for this guy's Stravinsky recordings on Spotify if you fancy a laugh. Particularly the Petrouchka pieces. I think I've uncovered the secret identity of BachMach2

I Googled his name and found his website. He is also a conductor it seems, or perhaps, he is a conductor who also plays piano. The clips he has up are very puzzling indeed. The level of playing is around that of a very average high school student, under tempo with many missed notes. His "Black Key" Etude is actually painful to listen to. I'm not sure why he would post these clips, unless he is astoundingly lacking in any kind of self-awareness.

In one of the stravinsky etudes (no. 4 I think) you actually hear him cry out in frustration at one point when he keeps making mistakes haha.

Very, very strange.

He doesn't stink, but he's.....not good. grin

The most puzzling thing, maybe: what it says on the front page of his website:

"...compared to Glenn Gould, and Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli..." -- Musica Magazine

Let's see what truth we could make of that:

-- what comes after the final "dot dot dot" is.........NOT!

-- compared to Gould's normality and Michelangeli's record of showing up

-- "Musica Magazine" is the musical branch of The Onion smile

BTW, some other things....on the musical samples page, here's some of what it says:

Chopin's Military Polonaise is called Op. 53
An etude is called "studio" (close enough I guess) grin
Length is repeatedly spelled lenght (ditto)

Bruce: How did you find this guy?

Someone posted the link of the petrouchka pieces on a friend's facebook who is currently learning them (and plays them fabulously). Tom Hicks, you may remember him from Gina Bachauer.
I listened to the whol 2CD album, so enthralled was I at how bad it was. Even the pieces written for children are sloppy as heck. The mind boggles lol.
