Are you playing the piano accompaniment (the middle line) for the right hand or the melody (the top line)?

For the accompaniment, the right hand always sticks with the left.

It goes (for every note, not the beats):

I apologize for not being more specific.I am playing the melody for the right hand.(top line).I have practiced the right and left hand separate.I have practiced hands together.I ca'nt seem to get the right hand triplets against the left hand eight note ,sixteenth note rest,and sixteenth note.I get the remaining two eighth notes for right and left hands.I ca'nt seem to feel how the melody triplets are played against the left hand.Could you please show me like you did above for the right hand(top line melody) and the left hand (bottom) base line?Thank you.

When you have 3 against 4 in a pattern like this, you have to decide for yourself whether you want to be absolutely literal in the time, or if you find it better to take some license to adjust notes so they fit together well. With a dance pattern, you will probably want to adjust the vocal line to the bass, although in other situations, it may well be the opposite, or a compromise, adjusting both.

There are a variety of rhythmic conventions, some of which conflict with each other. A composer may be thinking of one convention, and the performer may be more comfortable with another. In the end, what matters is that you establish a consistent rhythm for the piece and convey that to the audience.

I have been playing Chopin's first prelude lately, which is written in a variety of ways by different editors. It is written in 2/8 time. Most of the measures are two sets of triplet sixteenths, with the right hand coming in on the second note of the first triplet. But a few are written with the right hand coming on the first beat, and either that beat marked as two sixteenths, or the entire right hand measure marked as a quintuplet. In the end, it does not matter. The only thing that matters is whether that first note is before or after the beat, and that there is a steady flow of the measures.

This is what you have to do. Decide what is important about the rhythm, and do what you can to reinforce that.

It's easier if you just draw lines connecting the top notes to the bottom notes, so you know exactly when to play what.

Yes, that can be helpful; just make sure that the alignment of notes on the score corresponds to the note values in the music. Perfect alignment is not always the case in printed music, so you can not always take visual cues from the printed page as to when notes in one hand are played with respect to the notes in the other hand. That's why it's so important to know note values and how to count them.
