a strange question/request

Hi. Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong place. I have a rather strange question which requires the help of someone with the ability to play from ear. Myself and some friends are huge fans of some classic style piano music used in an old tv show and have been searching in vain for years to find clean copies of this lovely music without actors speaking over the top. I don't know anyone who can play the piano, certainly not play by ear, so I was wondering if anyone here might be interested in offering this service (ie recording clean copies of these pieces of music.) The pieces are quite simple - I think - but romantic and emotional piano melodies. I can post examples from YouTube clips of the tv show. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVMelHuKCSQThere are quite a few different pieces so is there anybody who would enjoy or be interested in this task? There are some beautiful pieces of music. Thanks

I wish I hadnt seen this because I feel that what I have to say may not help, but are you actually joking?
This is really weird, but how can some incidental "generic" "music" that is being played whilst "Bobbys" life support machine is turned off on some Australian soap opera possibly affect you so dramatically?
I can only think of two possible reasons offhand ( but feel certain others will think of more reasons)
Reason (a) You knew Bobby personally and he died in the exact circumstances that were depicted on "Home and away"
OR,
Reason (b.) you are actually very ill emotionally and if that is the case I apologise, and offer you any support you may need in the future.

It's not just that piece of music and that scene. If you read my post it is many pieces from countless different scenes and I am not the only one who likes this music. A lot of people have tried to get hold of it.
There is really no need to be so insulting and nasty to a new member who was only asking a question. If it's not your cup of tea then fine move on to the next Topic. I don't see what you get out of putting someone down so unnecessarily.
If there is one thing I thought I would find on a forum like this it is respect for different people's musical taste, wherever they happened to hear it, but apparently not. What a horrible representation of this community you have given.

crashburn : We are individual members here from all corners of the globe [1] and, for the most part, no one individual's comments necessarily represent the "community." You may wish also to post your question in the Pianist Non-Classical forum. Good luck with your search. [1] The expression notwithstanding, I've yet to see a globe with corners! Regards,

....There is really no need to be so insulting and nasty to a new member who was only asking a question.... Very true. Let me try to do better. I think the reason you didn't get any 'real' replies and got only the snarky one (which BTW isn't typical for this site) was that besides this thing not being anything familiar, it doesn't really seem "classical." You might do better re-posting this on the Pianist-Non-Classical forum. edit: You beat me to it, Bruce!.

Thank you for the decent replies. I did acknowledge in my original post that I wasn't sure if this was the correct forum. I don't think I deserved that torrent of abuse even if my request was a little weird. Maybe a moderator could move this?

What's usually done on this site is just to re-post it in the other place, which is here. And in this case I think that would be much better than having this moved because you'd be getting a clean start, without the offending post.

I wish I hadnt seen this because I feel that what I have to say may not help... You are correct. Nothing you said was helpful. The OP is simply looking for help transcribing something. We've had a lot of these requests in the past, but I don't think they've ever been fruitful. Transcription is time-consuming and requires a lot of training, so it's not something a professionally trained musician is likely to do for free, and it's actually illegal to transcribe copyrighted work and sell it. But on the off chance there is someone out there willing to take up the challenge, let's at least refrain from suggesting the topic is a joke and the OP is "emotionally ill."

Hang on a moment, i clicked the link and watched the scene in home and away when Bobby has his life support machine turned off, there wasnt any "many scenes" just that one.
I thought it was a joke, as here in the UK "Home and away" and "neighbours" and "prisoner cell block H" ( all from Australia ) are by the vast majority of folk I know, looked upon with derision.
I am not talking about the "inteligensia" as Most of the folk I know are well into watching the jerry springer show for example ( I personally find that hideous as well)
Believing it to be a joke post I reacted accordingly, and admit to not noticing it was this members first post, my bad,
Crashburn, i am sorry dude, I didnt realise you was being totally serious.
