I know of a dealer in Atlanta who sells Steinlager brand pianos... he once told me he owned the factory where they were made. All I can say is wow... that is impressive! smile

Well - To be technically correct, it is Steinlager und Sohne. Yes it is family owned and the rims are of the finest Sitka barrel staves. It has a very unique tapper action which seems to delight all who partake of this instrument.

Rich, I'm surprised that you are publicising this now. You personally advised me that it wouldn't be introduced until OctoberNAMM.

You mean this one:
Pascal Vieillard, A-440 Pianos Inc. Guilty of...
A440 comes up first in searches for Steinlager Pianos.
These strikingly similar craigslist ads show up in searches, too.
Used Steinlager in Lilburn
Used Steinlager in Bogart

Maybe that's why I didn't have any witty comebacks for Rich's post. The truth seems more like satire than the fiction.

Hmmmmmm - PianoWorks is in Atlanta. Two Steinlager pianos show up on Georgia Craigslists with the same photos.

Something is definitly brewing there.

That's just a diversion by Sam! The reality is ... that our moderator "Rickster" is intent on purchasing these gems for his "Budding"Home-Brewed Piano Museum! When you hear them on Youtube playing "Marching Through Georgia" on dueling Steinlagers, you'll have your proof! grin

Wow, this thread is becoming intoxicating!

Actually, my late grandfather on my mother’s side was a notorious moonshiner in these parts. Problem was, he drank about as much moonshine as he made. My late mother told me many stories of her father’s moonshiner days… she said he used to sell the shine out of their house and when anyone would knock on the door, her little brothers would run and open the door, greet the visitor and politely ask if they wanted a shot or of pint.

My grandfather never played a piano that I am aware of, but he did play the guitar a little, was very handsome and charming to boot. Maybe that is why I’m good looking, talented and good with soldering and brazing copper tubing. smile

Sorry, Rich, I didn't mean to steal your Steinlager, I mean thunder... grin

I recommend Sweetwater brewery over Steinlager. Better selection and higher quality than the local Steinlager varieties. And last, the hangover is much worse when you have a Steinlager.

Wow "Pearl River Beer" (according to Google for the words on the opener)! I think I will stick with their pianos. According to the Internet (which makes it true right) -

Beer made from that river may have some extra ingredients.

I especially like the finish choices that Steinlager offers:

Ebony, Mahogany, Barley, and Malt.

Actually, a friend of mine purchased an old 7' Steinlager from an auction site with the hopes of refurbishing it. It's in pretty decent working order, with hops growing out the top and the tap seems to be working quite well still. Really, I think all it needs is a bit of work on the finish.

Closely related to the upright Steinlager piano is their rare Steinlager organ:

The bottles are actually the pipes!!

Ahem - That is not brewed by Steinlager. Jacob Leinenkugel Orgelwerke is in Chippewa Falls, Bavaria.

Get it?
Got it?
Sehr Gut!

The brewing water is said to come from the Big Eddy Springs. Big Eddy was a moose.

I have played the Leinenkugel calliope!

I hope your friend does not add any of those "hops" to a batch of beer!

Haven't you ever tried "Begonia Brew" with a slight hint of ivy? It's staggeringly good!

I've heard that Steinlager is about to introduce the Burpendorfer and the Belchstonia.

Everyone - Drink up and fall down!
