Hi

I have a Yamaha digital piano. However when I have it on piano mode it is not very loud even with the volume right up. I have to put it on harpsichord mode to get a louder sound. The digital piano at my music school is much louder and it is a Clavanova. My teacher was surprised because Yamaha are good makes of digital piano.

I have not looked in the handbook to see if there is anything else I can do to make piano setting louder.

Any bright ideas?

Does the piano have a Touch setting. If it's set to Hard, you have to press more firmly to get louder sound, so the piano will be softer. Change it to Normal or Soft.
