Dear Piano World Friends,
Our family has operated a piano store at 1033 Hollywood Way for nearly twenty years. We've seen a lot of changes over that time watching our store foot print grow as we added more adjoining spaces. We've watched children in our family and our employees families grow up. We've experienced the high highs of a thriving company and the low lows of losing our parents, the president and CEO of our company. After all of these moments in our current headquarters building, it all comes down to this, our final week here prior to moving to our new location on February 25th. We're very excited about our new larger building directly on the 5 freeway featuring a recital hall, a music school and Hollywood Sheet Music.
Edited by Glenn Treibitz (02/19/13 01:41 PM) Edit Reason: blatant error

Glenn, I wish you and your family business the very best that life has to offer… however, your thread is direct and blatant advertising. You really should have run this by Frank Baxter or Ken Knapp first. *Edit.... Comments edited by Glenn... I wish you the best of success with your store relocation, and I enjoyed the history (I'm a history buff anyway ). Rick

Situations such as this one are rare. I'm sure Glenn had no ill intent and Rick handled it optimally.
No big deal. Great Wall of China...oh come now.

I don't agree that it's rare. They are just couched in various creative approaches.
I also suggest a separate forum just for advertising. Then, people who want to see ads can go right there. If there are any topics that marketers are trying to slip through, the moderators can move them to the ad forum.
I would expect though, that sales reps would object to that approach because they know exactly what they are doing and know they would get fewer readers. Unlike here where, even if they get scolded, the message was already delivered. I'm sure it's part of the plan.
Or possibly, this forum should be renamed to be something like 'piano dealer/sales forum'

Any dealer is able to buy an advert at Piano World. They don't need free ad space at PW - They need to support PW ------ With Their Paid Ads!!!!!!

We've talked before about a separate forum for advertising (in which the poster will pay to advertise). I personally think it is an idea with merit. It would not only handle announcements, but also things like people looking to sell used sheet music collections, old player rolls, a swivel stool, etc. BTW, Hollywood Piano does pay to Advertise in our Piano Dealer Listings for California I know Glenn personally and I don't believe he meant any harm, but I do appreciate members looking out for us too :-)

Me too, in Maryland, DC and Northern VA. Plus, I am involved with Piano Buyer, another paying advertiser. In fact, it is we who pay that truely support Piano World. We are Frank's main incentive for providing this wonderful site.

Thank you to you, the other advertisers, and, of course, to Frank and the moderators.

I'm confused as to what is wrong with this OP? Perhaps we should have a separate forum for industry news. Best of luck in your new digs.

Dave B,
Keep in mind that the OP and thread title have been edited. It was a blatent sales pitch in its original form.
'Nuff said.

I, personally, I happy to hear of a dealer that is expanding instead of going out of business. Best of luck, Glen!!
