I'm trying to find a set of replacement over dampers for my recently rebuilt 1911 K. The originals were lost long ago, and I can't seem to find new replacements on-line. Does anyone know where I might find a set?

Thanks!

I just make them from wire and felt when I need them.

If you have to make them and are pushed for felt then a very firm "plastic" foam works well as it can be cut to shape with a sharp knife and then glued to wood strip backing.
If all the hinged action pieces are missing you need a cabinet maker!

Foam is not a substitute for felt, and there is no wood backing on these dampers.

If you are a stickler for accuracy, the lower dampers on these Steinways can be made using a wood backing. You can get thin plywood at a hobby shop that works well for the core. I use grand shank rest felts for these and the overdampers.
