I just came across Yamaha's NoteStar App for iPad and thought that it looked quite interesting. Rather than have me explain what it does, here are links to 2 videos about it:

I'm wondering whether anyone here uses it, and if so, what your impressions are. My DGX640 doesn't have any auxiliary inputs, but I would think that my mixer would do just as well, right? (Connect the iPad and DP to available inputs on the mixer. The mixer's output then goes to my headphones.)

Any thoughts on NoteStar, positive or negative?

I just installed it, and it works just as advertised. Being able to transpose and change tempo are really nice features, as well as being able to isolate the vocals, accompaniment, left hand, or right hand.

Steinway has a new app just for sheet music called "Etude", but the page turns are jerky. I think we're just seeing the beginning of this.

Yes, your mixer should work fine; it's just audio output. Or you can put in your ear buds...
