You can listen to a sample (usually about 1 minute or more) of each of 20 potential 'songs' from the pre-release listing of Time Lapse on iTunes. It also says if you purchase the album (on iTunes) you will receive a digital eBook extra. Have to wait for January 21st. My birthday is early Feb smile

And I am as happy for you as I am envious, Carlos. You will enjoy the concert greatly. And sooner or later he'll make it to the U.S., and with any luck it will at a place and time I can go. smile

Here's a nicely written, detailed, and--it goes without saying--highly complimentary review of Einaudi's new album:

Review of "In a Time Lapse"

Oh, I sure hope I can get in here in the U.S. on the release date of 1/21.

p.s. Einaudi gave away two outtakes from the album on his Facebook page; I'm listening to them now, and they're beautiful... in many ways, more serene than the Nightbook pieces.'

More exciting news: On Saturday, Jan. 19th, Einaudi will be streaming live on YouTube an hour long concert, played in his own home, of pieces from "In a Time Lapse."

Now all I gotta do is convert the 9:00 pm Italian time to Kentucky time...

wow, that's awesome. Definitely gonna check this out with the family.

As far as the piece "Time Lapse", I think I have the guitar part down. grin

I agree, Carlos; that arrangement is breathtaking. I'm going to check out the whole album, because I like a lot of the composers mentioned on it (Richter, Part, etc.).

Thanks!

p.s. I have had the same problem with trying to use the embedded feature. Somebody, I forget who, told me to try putting merely the mixed up letters and numbers part of the YouTube tag, and that works like a charm.

In other words, rather than copying and pasting the entire URL when prompted, simply enter 'QmV6dyEi430' (without the single quotes). I don't understand why/how that works, but it does for me. confused

ooh ooh ooh. Einaudi just posted a concert date in the U.S. for this spring, hopefully one of many: May 21 in Washington D.C. I guess I'll wait and see if something a little closer to KY gets scheduled.

<--Is in bliss, and I'm only on the third track.

The sort-of-title-track ("Time Lapse") is stunning. And I can't wait for the sheet music to be released so I can learn "Life" (which sounds doable).

I think this time Einaudi chose a more classical path then in other albuns. I use to call him a "new-classic" composer (a mix between new-age and classical), but this time I identify sounds more from the classic side.
I think it's natural: a composer evolves over time based on their life experiences.

Anyway, I think this album has some great pieces.
