After a couple of months' piano search, we came across a brand new Kawai RX3 with 10 year Kawai warranty for $20k. Based on the serial# the piano was built in 1998 and the dealer kept it tuned regularly. Is the price good?

Is it 2008 or 1998? $20k for a new 2008 RX-3 sounds like the deal of a lifetime, but maybe some of the experts here will chime in with an opinion more credible than mine.

1998 was a typo. It was made in 2008.

I think that is a great price!

Hi,
I think you have a good deal. I just purchased from a private party a used 2008 RX2 for $12K. Good luck.

Thanks for all your replies. Will it sound well in a 12x12 hard-wood-floor room? No other furniture but a curio in the corner.

Hi Sunny,

The RX3 always sounds great, but it has a big voice! You might have to consider an area rug and some additional sound attenuation elements. Or, just glory in the exceptional experience of it all!
