I was going to tease my daughter and put it above her piano.

Thank you! I did the insert image, but I think my browser won't let it post, it didn't work on preview.

Remember,
When you got to bed tonight, your competition will still be awake - practicing your part.

Do I have to practice? No, just put your music under your pillow every night and you're brain will magically learn the music.

"Do I have to practice?" is a sure sign that the cat might have used up all 7 lives ... the Piano Teacher will need to "shape up and fly right" or else lose the student.
Practising should be fun.

But nothing is fun all the time, even things we love, in general...

"Do I have to practice?" is a sure sign that the cat might have used up all 7 lives ... You mean "nine" lives? the Piano Teacher will need to "shape up and fly right" or else lose the student.
Practising should be fun. What kind of attitude are you trying to perpetuate? Everything has to be "fun"? I'm sure kids who are doing 30 Algebra problems every night are loving every single minute.

My daughter thought it was funny and put it on her school binder (she added Tim r's comment). My son looked queasy and said, "That is why I dropped being a music major, I couldn't be that competitive."

Thanks for checking my cat lives count AZN ... I didn't want to use up the full nine after reading Huckleberry Finn ... didn't he swing a "skeerdy" dead cat by the tail in the dead of night ... to being good luck.
I still whistle when walking through a graveyard.
PS BTW I used to daily knock off my my algebra (favourite subject) top of the homework list ... but then I was lucky to have a good teacher.

I hated Algebra, and I had a good teacher that made it tolerable. But I never had "fun" with it. I don't think that the two are necessarily related, and I don't think practice will always be fun, even if you love to play. Sometimes you have to fight your way through the frustration and brick walls that come up - it's that struggle and the victory over it that is really "fun".
